Katherine M. Carter is a stage director in New York City. Currently she is adapting and directing Flaubert’s Madame Bovary, which just had its first workshop at The Directors Company under master director Nagle Jackson. Over the next few months Katherine will be traveling around the United States directing. In the fall Katherine will be directing the workshop production of 7:32, a new musical by KT Peterson, which won the Kennedy award in the summer of 2009. A lover of the classics, Katherine spent a year working with John Basil at The American Globe as an associate director. She has directed critically acclaimed productions of Twelfth Night and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Katherine has directed many budding plays in over eight festivals this past year alone. As an assistant she has worked with John Basil, Bob Moss, BT McNicholl, Mark Schineder, and David Soloman. In the fall of 2008 Katherine served as the directing intern on the hit Broadway musical Billy Elliot. Katherine received her BFA from Marymount Manhattan College.
