Lance Olds |
Lance Olds grew up near Seattle, acting/singing at a young age in
the children’s chorus at Seattle Opera, doing plays with Seattle Children’s
Theatre, A Contemporary Theatre, and Seattle Rep - (including being directed
by Daniel Sullivan in Richard III). He then went to NYU Tisch School of the
Arts, attending CAP21 and Classical Studio. Shortly after graduating (with
honors) he spent a year traveling the US with the Footloose 1st National
Tour (understudying Christian Borle) and became a company member of the NY
Gilbert & Sullivan Players (with whom he’s sung principal roles, fight
captained, and as of now performed 11 of the 13 G&S operettas). He continues
that collaboration and will be performing in Patience, The Mikado, and The
Pirates of Penzance during the 2023-24 NYGASP Season. Other career
highlights include Carnival! at the Kennedy Center (directed by Robert Longbottom),
playing the anti-hero of episode 7 of MTV’s scripted series Eye Candy, and
several years as a “swing” for the long-running off-Broadway show Naked Boys
Singing! In addition to acting, Lance teaches ballroom, swing, line, and
square dancing. With his ballroom dance expertise, he’s been hired as a principal
dancer for several feature films: Kate & Leopold, Mona Lisa Smile, Stepford
Wives, and Disney's Enchanted. He also works with LEAP (Learning Through
an Expanded Arts Program) bringing arts programming to NYC school children!
