Michele Sexton is a versatile singer-actor-entertainer-model
who is at home on the musical theater, opera, and concert stage as well as
in front of the camera. Possessing a wide vocal and acting range, Michele
moves from musical theater leading ladies and intriguing character roles
to operatic grand dames and more with ease.
Recently, Michele took on the title role in Kiss Me Kate, her debut with the St. Petersburg Opera Company in Florida, receiving critical praise for her “star power”, excellent acting and singing”, and “glamorous figure”. Michele has appeared as the Beggar Woman in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, and again with the Hawaii Opera Theater. Michele returned to PSF for as an Aristocrat in their record-breaking production of Evita, starring Tony award winner Paulo Szot. A favorite at the Bristol Riverside Theater in PA, Michele joined the company recently as a principle for their “Broadway Summer Spectacular” and “American Christmas Songbook”. Michele was the female soloist on a six-week tour of China with the Hollywood Concert Orchestra, in a program of Broadway favorites including Phantom of the Opera, Sound of Music, My Fair Lady and more, playing in some of China’s largest venues. Michele has appeared in concert with William Michals in their duet show; “It’s A grand Night for Singing” as well as her own show; “From Puccini to Broadway and Beyond”. Michele has also taken the stage as a soloist with The Festival Orchestra of the Atlantic, The New Jersey Pops Orchestra, the Garden State Symphonic Band, and the Boheme Opera Orchestra.
Other favorite musical theater roles include Fairy Godmother-Cinderella, Francesca-Bridges of Madison County, Margaret-Light in the Piazza, Marion-Music Man, Lily-Secret Garden, Desiree- A Little Night Music, and Anna-The King and I.
Michele has appeared at Lincoln Center with the Metropolitan Opera Guild for performances of “Flavors of Puccini”- singing the title role of Suor Angelica, Elettra in Idomeneo for “Exploring Mozart” and Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata in the “Masterly Singing” program. Michele holds a Master of Music Degree in Vocal performance from the Manhattan School of Music and is a “Forever” Miss New Jersey and Top Ten Finalist at the Miss America Pageant.
