Born in Pittsburgh and raised outside of Washington,
D.C. in Rockville, Md, Daniel Cohen grew up dreaming of becoming a football
star. When that quickly proved to be unrealistic, he turned to a newfound
love of singing and musical theater. He began performing in productions
both at his high school and at the local Musical Theater Center, where he
was also a member of the elite Young Americans of Washington ensemble.
College took him to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill while
his theater education continued during summers at the prestigious Broadway
Theater Project under the leadership of Anne Reinking. In his senior year
he began his professional acting career in a series of musicals at the North
Carolina Theatre in Raleigh.
Following graduation, Daniel moved to New York City to
begin acting full-time. His career has included two national tours,
shows at many top regional theaters, and most notably a role in the world
premier musical Meet John Doe, performed at historic Ford’s
Theater in Washington, D.C. An accomplished musical theater performer and
tap dancer, Daniel is also a trained lyric tenor with easy high extension
and a large operatic repertoire in Italian, French, and German.'
